Reinhardt in Vienna, Francesco Durante and Leonardo Leo in Naples, and J.J. Fux in Vienna; taught composition and singing; from about 1749 to 1761 was Kapellmeister to the household of Field Marshal Joseph Friedrich, Prince of Sachsen-Hildburghausen; in 1774 became Kapellmeister to the Viennese imperial court; conductor of the Tonkünstler-Societät)
