Washington post WWW site, viewed March 16, 2023 (in obituary dated March 13, 2023: Former congresswoman Patricia Schroeder, a megaphone for the women's movement, the first woman to serve on the House Armed Services Committee and a liberal Democrat known for her barbed wit, died March 13 in Celebration, Fla. She was 82. Patricia Nell Scott was born in Portland, Ore., on July 30, 1940. In 1962, she married James Schroeder, also a Harvard Law student. After Harvard, the Schroeders moved to Denver to practice law. After leaving Washington, Mrs. Schroeder moved to Celebration and spent 11 years as president and chief executive of the Association of American Publishers)
