Wikipedia, accessed on June 9, 2020: (Ivan Georgov was born on January 7, 1862 in the Bulgarian town of Veles, then in the Ottoman Empire, today within the borders of Northern Macedonia... After graduating from the Teacher's Seminary in Viena In 1882, he settled in liberated Bulgaria and volunteered in the Serbo-Bulgarian war. In1889, he defended a doctorate in philosophy and pedagogy in Leipzig. After returning to Bulgaria, he taught philosophy, ethics and logic at Sofia University. From 1888 to 1934 he was the permanent head of the Department of History of Philosophy, twice dean of the Faculty of History and Philology and five times rector of the university.)
Macedonian Scientific Institute website, accessed on June 9, 2020: (Ivan Georgov (1862-1936) was a college teacher, a scientist, and a social activist. He made significant achievements in the development of Bulgarian pedagogical science and the history of philosophy. In addition to his professional work, he was a social activist and a founder of a number of public organizations. The main focus of his social activities was the clarification of the Macedonian question. Georgov was a founder and first chairman of the Macedonian Scientific Institute (1925-1928), as well as a founder and deputy chairman of the All-Bulgarian Union Father Paisius (1927-1936).
