de.wikipedia, August 2, 2019 ([translated] Hilde Rubinstein (born April 7, 1904 in Augsburg, died August 5, 1997 in Gothenburg) was a German painter and poet. As a member of the KPD Hilde Rubinstein was imprisoned in 1933, she emigrated in 1934 via Belgium and the Netherlands in 1935 to Sweden. In 1936 and 1937 she lived in the Soviet Union, where she was threatened with extradition to the German Reich because of Trotskyist activity. She fled to Poland and returned to Sweden via Latvia. At first she got involved in various temporary work, then worked as a painter and writer. After the war she stayed in Sweden, where she lived in Gothenburg. Her estate is in the Akademie der Künste Berlin.)
