Kentucky encyclopedia, ©1992: page 139 ("Alexander Scott Bullitt" was elected to the Virginia legislature in 1782; moved to Kentucky one year later as part of the militia. Settled in Shelby County, Ky, then to a farm south of Louisville, where he lived for the rest of his life. Was a member of the Kentucky convention in Danville in 1788 and in 1792 he was a delegate to the constitutional convention. Was elected as one of Kentucky's first original senators in 1792, where he served until 1799. Returned to the Kentucky senate from 1804 to 1808. Died April 13, 1816 at his home. Bullitt County, Ky. is named for him.)
