Kentucky encyclopedia, ©1992: page 436 ("Horace Holley", minister and educator, born in Salisbury, Connecticut on February 13, 1781. Attended Yale. Served as a pastor of the Congregational Church in Greenfield Hill, near Fairfield, Connecticut, then a minister of a Unitarian church in Boston. Asked to become president of Transylvania University in 1818, he served in this post until 1825. Moved to New Orleans. Died off the coast of Florida of yellow fever abord a ship bound for Boston from New Orleans on July 31, 1827.)
