Danish Wikipedia, Jan. 20, 2016 (Georg Nicolaus Nissen, born 22 January 1761 in Haderslev, died 24 March 1826 in Salzburg; Danish diplomat, married to Mozart's widow Constanze Mozart; studied in Copenhagen and published a few poems; entered foreign service in 1790, was stationed in Regensburg and Vienna; styled "von Nissen" from 1800; from approximately 1798, lived with Constanze Mozart in Vienna, but they only married on 26 June 1809 in Bratislava (having fled Vienna to escape Napoleon's troops); the couple moved to Copenhagen in 1810, where Nissen worked as a newspaper censor, and to Salzburg in 1824, where Nissen began the first major biography of Mozart on the basis of the Mozart family correspondence; the work was unfinished at his death, and was completed by others; his epitaph reads : "Georg Nicolaus von Nissen, Königl. Dänischer wirklicher Etats-Rath. Ritter des Dannebrog Ordens. Gatte der Wittwe Mozart")
