Googel German , February 18, 2016 (Clemens Heselhaus; born: July 18, 1912 in Westphalia Burlo; died: January 2, 2000 Pohlheim; attended schools in Recklinghausen and Münster (leaving certificate 1932); studied German literature, history, art history and philosophy at the Universities of Munich and Münster; in 1938 worked as a teacher in Paris; in1939, received a doctorate in philosopy; in1940 he qualified as a professor at the University of Münster; 1941-42 worked as a lecturer in German language at the University of Pisa and 1942-43 at the University of Milan; was appointed in August 1944 to the faculty of Modern German language and literature at the University of Halle; in 1946 became a lecturer at the University of Münster; in 1952 was appointed associate professor there; in 1961 was appointed chair of German language and literature at the University of Giessen)
