Wikipedia, 28 June 2017 (Franc̦ois Nau (May 13, 1864 at Thil - September 2, 1931 at Paris); Franc̦ois-Nicolas Nau; was a Catholique priest, mathematician, Syriacist and specialist in oriental languages; earned baccalaurete in theology and canon law (1887); became an ordained priest in the diocese of Paris (1887); gained diploma of the École pratique des hautes études in Paris (1895); received a doctorate of science (1897); starting in 1890, taught mathematics and astronomy at the Institut Catholique de Paris for 40 years; In 1927 he was appointed to a teaching post for Syriac at the École pratique des hautes études; became the "doyen" of the Ecole des Sciences (1928))
