Born December 20, 1837 in Fayette County, Ky. Attended Transylvania University and graduated from Bethany College in West Virginia in 1858. Ordained as a minister in the Chrisitian Church in 1864, he was a traveling preacher, then a pastor of the Versailles Christian Church. Resigned this position then reported for three Lexington newspapers before starting his own newspaper, the "Bluegrass Blade" in 1890 which was controversial in its views for the time, for which Moore was convicted and sentenced to two year's imprisonment in Ohio. While in prison he wrote his autobiography "Behind the bars, 31498". Died February 7, 1906.) |
