Washington post WWW site, viewed June 25, 2020 (in obituary dated June 24, 2020: Sergei Khrushchev, who was a top Soviet expert on guided missile design, often accompanied his father, Nikita Khruschev, on diplomatic missions around the world. He died June 18 in Cranston, R.I., at 84. Dr. Khrushchev came to the United States as a visiting scholar at Brown University in 1991. Sergei Nikitich Khrushchev was born July 2, 1935, in Moscow. He attended what is now the Moscow Power Engineering Institute, receiving a doctorate in 1961. Dr. Khrushchev became director of the Soviet missile design bureau and later was the research director of a computer institute. Dr. Khrushchev and his wife, Valentina Golenko, became naturalized U.S. citizens in 1999. Dr. Khrushchev wrote several books about his father and Russian society. At home in Rhode Island, Dr. Khrushchev became a devoted gardener and household carpenter)
