Studied in Germany until 1906 with Hugo Riemann, 3 yrs with Reger. Sent articles on music from Berlin to St Petersburger Zeitung (1910-11) and wrote concert and opera reviews (1911-14). Emigrated to Finland 1918; in 1924 became mgr of Helsinki City Orchestra, continued until his death)
