Earned a B.S. from Purdue University in West Lafayette, Indiana in 1905. Received an LL.B. from the University of Indianapolis in 1907 then practiced law six years, then farmed 1917-1924. A Republican, Leslie won election to the Indiana House of Representatives in 1922 and served three consecutive terms. Successfully ran for governor of Indiana in 1928, retiring in 1932 and became president of the Standard Life Insurance Company. Died in Miami Beach, Florida while on vacation on December 10, 1937.)
