German Wikipedia, viewed on Aug. 16th, 2024 (Heinrich Julius (born October 15th, 1564 at Schloss Hesse ; died July 20th, 1613 in Prague) was postulant Bishop of Halberstadt, Duke of Brunswick and Lüneburg and Prince of Brunswick-Wolfenbüttel, from 1582 to 1585 also Bishop-elect of the Bishopric of Minden. He reigned from 1589 until his death in 1613. At the age of 12, Heinrich Julius was appointed Rector of the University of Helmstedt founded by his father Duke Julius ; He loved theater and drama... The literary-minded Duke also wrote plays. His best work is said to be the comedy By Vincentio Ladislao Sacrapa of Mantua from 1594 ; He arranged more than a thousand Protestant hymns for church music ; He made a name for himself as a music theorist... ; Heinrich Julius became notorious for his "zealous burning of witches".)
