Biography/History note | Béjar In New York in long stays at the Metropolitan Museum of Art he becomes a painter. It is in this city where the English painter Arthur Ewart encourages him to observe and capture reality from the plastic point of view. His first individual exhibition was made as a painter with 18 paintings, in the Ward Eggleston Gallery, on 57th Street in New York. In 1949 he was awarded a scholarship by Unesco in Paris, despite his self-taught training, taking advantage of the stay to travel Europe by bicycle. |
