Washington post WWW site, viewed Jan. 10, 2020 (in obituary dated Jan. 9, 2020: Pete Dye, who designed some of the world's most spectacularly beautiful and challenging golf courses, including the celebrated Stadium Course at TPC Sawgrass in Florida, died Jan. 9 in the Dominican Republic. He was 94. A spokesperson for his company, Dye Design, announced the death. Paul "Pete" Dye Jr. was born Dec. 29, 1925, in Urbana, Ohio. He sold insurance and was a champion amateur golfer before becoming a full-time golf course architect in 1959)
