Biography/History noteLeroy Kirkland's career began in the 1920s playing guitar in southern jazz bands and throughout th 1930s, he worked as an arranger and songwriter for Erskine Hawkins. By the 1940s, he joined the Dorsey borthers and continued to arrange works for major record labels. For more information:
