Wikipedia, (Dirk van den Boom is a German political scientist, science fiction writer and translator. Since 1996, he has been publishing political science books, mainly on the subject of development policy. Science fiction by Dirk van den Boom appeared earlier mostly in series, since 2007 however, also in the form of independent novels. Tentakelschatten (2007) was nominated for the Kurd-Lasswitz-Prize in 2008. The first part of his Die Welten der Skiir series, Prinzipat, was awarded the German Science Fiction Prize in 2017.
