Encyclopedia of Ukraine, 1984: p. 761 (Drohobych or Drohobytsky, Yurii, [Drohobyč (Drohobycʹkyj, Jurij] (pen name of Yurii Kotermak) b. ca 1450, d. 1494, the first doctor of medicine in Ukraine. He was brought up in Drohobych and received a master's degree from Cracow University in 1473, and a doctoral and medical degrees from Bologna University, where during 1481-2 he was rector, teaching both astronomy and medicine. In 1487 he became a professor of medicine at Cracow University. His book entitled, Judicium prenosticon Magistrii Georgii Drogobicz de Russia, was published in Rome in 1483. This was the first known book published abroad by a Ukrainian)
