Wikipedia, February 28, 2017 (article title: Diego Ladrón de Guevara; Doctor Diego Ladrón de Guevara Orozco Calderón (born 1641, Cifuentes, Spain, died September 9, 1718, Mexico City); Roman Catholic bishop and Spanish colonial administrator; served as viceroy of Peru, August 30, 1710-March 2, 1716; appointed bishop of Panama, 1689; president of the Audiencia of Panama, 1695; appointed bishop of Ayacucho (or Huamanga), Peru, 1699; opened University of San Cristóbal de Huamanga there and was its first rector; appointed bishop of Quito (also in viceroyalty of Peru), 1703, resigned in 1710, when he was appointed viceroy of Peru; denounced in the royal courts for embezzlement, and removed from office in 1716, after which he went to New Spain, dying in Mexico City in 1718)
