Wikipedia, viewed February 23, 2018: Johann Friedrich La Trobe page (Johann Friedrich Bonneval de La Trobe (born May 30, 1759 in chelsea, England, Decenber 19, 1845 in Dorpat, Livonia) was a German Baltic composer. Johann Friedrich La Trobe came from a provincial Huguenot family. When his father died, he moved to Germany young. He learned music at the School of the Moravian Moravian Church in Niesky near Görlitz and from 1787 to 1790 at the Seminar of the Moravians in Barby on the Elbe . He then studied medicine at the University of Jena , where he passed his exams in 1795. From 1793 La Trobe was active in the Baltic States : as a private tutor, doctor, church councilor, judge, estate manager and organist.)
