He stood as a presidential candidate in 1999 and 2005, and he served as Minister of Foreign Affairs from 2005 to 2006. He was President of the National Unity Party (Parti de l'unité nationale, PUN), an entity which he founded in the mid-1990s; born Dékoa, Kemo-Gribingui, Ubangi-Shari (now Dékoa, Kemo-Gribingui, Central African Republic; died Paris)
