Wikipedia, March 19, 2021 (Abdalla Hamdok; also transliterated Abdallah Hamdouk; Arabic: ʻAbd Allāh Hamdūk; born 1 January 1956; Sudanese public administrator who has served as 15th Prime Minister of Sudan since 2019; bachelor of science from the University of Khartoum, and a doctorate in economic studies from the University of Manchester; senior official in the Sudanese Ministry of Finance and Economic Planning, 1981-1987; in the 1990s, held senior positions at Deloitte & Touche, then the International Labour Organization in Zimbabwe, then several years at the African Development Bank in Côte d'Ivoire; Deputy Executive Secretary of the United Nations Economic Commission for Africa (UNECA), November 2011-October 2018; had earlier worked for UNECA as Director of Regional Integration and Trade, 2001-2002; named as Minister of Finance under the Omar al-Bashir presidency in September 2018 but refused the nomination; appointed by the Sovereignty Council of Sudan to be Prime Minister on 20 August 2019, sworn in the next day)
