Bruce Sunpie Barnes is an interpretive park ranger with the National Park Service with nearly 30 years of experience. At the New Orleans Jazz National Historical Park in New Orleans, Louisiana, he uses music, photography, and oral history mediums to create projects that highlight the culture of the city. As the bandleader of Sunpie and the Louisiana Sunspots, he has written and composed over 100 original compositions, and produced six critically acclaimed CDs that showcase his Afro-Louisiana sound, including the 2013 release, Island Man. He is also the Big Chief of the Northside Skull and Bone Gang, and a member of the Black Men of Labor Social Aid and Pleasure Club)
