Wikipedia, August 6, 2020 (Henry Wallis; Henry Wallis RWS (born 21 February 1830 in London; died 20 December 1916 in Croydon) was a British Pre-Raphaelite painter, writer and collector; he is best remembered for his first great success, The Death of Chatterton, which he exhibited at the Royal Academy in 1856; later in life he developed a greater interest in watercolour painting; he was elected a full member of the Royal Watercolour Society in 1878 and exhibited over 80 watercolours at the society)
