Nelli Bar, 1982: title page (Nelli Bar) page 22 (b. in Cologne, Germany in 1904; studied at the Kunstgewerbe Schule in Cologne, Academy of Fine Arts in Dresden; worked, studied, and exhibited in France, Spain, Portugal, and England; with her husband Paul Wieghardt, settled in Norway in 1939, fled to Sweden in 1940, emigrated to the US in 1941. Lived in Philadelphia from 1942-1946, moved to Chicago in 1946. Taught at the Illinois Institute of Technology from 1950 through 1975; also taught at the Art Institute of Chicago, University of Chicago, and Evanston Art Center; planned to move to a Quaker community near Philadelphia after retirement in 1982)
