Universität der Bundeswehr München website, viewed January 19, 2021 (Prof. Dr. Sina Farzin has been Professor of Sociology and Sociological Theory at the Department of Social Sciences and Public Affairs since December 2019. Her main research and teaching areas include sociological theory and cultural sociology. Her work has placed emphasis on social theory and its relationship to the diagnosis of contemporary society, theories of social inclusion and exclusion, and the analysis of narrative and rhetorical strategies in theoretical texts. Prof. Farzin studied at Ruhr-University Bochum and Peking University (PRC). She received MA Degrees in European Culture and Economics and German Literature in Bochum and her PhD in sociology from the Bremen International Graduate School of Social Sciences (BIGSSS). As a post-doctoral fellow, Sina Farzin worked at the University of Bremen. Hereafter, she was Junior Professor for Sociological Theory at the University of Hamburg, Deputy Professor for Sociological Theory at the University of Bremen, and Mercator Research Fellow at KWI Essen)
