Her husband John Wesley Langley was elected to Congress in March 1907 with Langley serving as his secretary. When her husband resigned from Congress after having been convicted of a liquor law violation, she was elected to replace him. Served two terms from March 4, 1927 to March 3, 1931. Served as railroad commissioner in Kentucky from 1939 to 1942, then as the postmaster of Pikeville, Ky. Died in Pikeville.) |
