Wikipedia, Sep. 30, 2022: (Antonio de Zulueta, Antonio de Zulueta y Escolano; b. Mar. 7, 1885, Barcelona; biologist and a pioneer in genetic research in Spain; earned his doctorate with a thesis in Zoology and was appointed in 1911 interim curator of the Osteozoology Section of the Museum of Natural Sciences in Madrid; translator of great works on biology, among others, the republished and best translation of the sixth edition of Charles Darwin's book The Origin of Species. His contributions proved the presence of dominant genes on the Y chromosome , --specific to males--, which had been considered to provide no information since it only had recessive genes that did not manifest themselves; The Spanish Civil War cut short his promising career; he remained in Spain after the war and was purged and ostracized for his Republican affiliation; d. Jan 31, 1971, Madrid)
