The significance of Bola Johnson's Pidgin English with his Wakabout column in Lagos Weekend Newspaper from 1970-1990, 2016: page 28 (born in Lagos 6 July 1947) page 29 (relocated to Ilorin, Kwara State, as a typist with Government Trade Centre, where he played for the state football club until 1965; played maracas in highlife band of Eric Akaeze in Ibadan, learned trumpet, formed his own band in 1968, Bola Johnson and his Easy Life Top Beats; moved to Zaria with his band) page 31 (highlife musician, entertainer, comedian, columnist; in the 1970s Bola Johnson started writing scripts for newspapers as a freelance journalist; in 1970 joined the Radio Nigeria Band Wagon; had many recordings as Papa Rebecca, a comedy radio program; played in FRCN (Federal Radio Corporation of Nigeria Lagos) live, took part in music shows; employed as a DJ at FRDN in 1970, developed his own Pidgin English style by telling stories; wrote Pidgin English scripts for Nollywood film producers; spoke Yoruba, Hausa, and Igbo fluently; died 6 April 2014, in his Ikorodu home; his remains were taken to his hometown, Obon, Delta State, where he was buried)
