German Wikipedia, Aug. 15, 2013: "Hamburg-HafenCity" (Hafencity; alternate access point: HafenCity (own description); city section of Hamburg in the district of Hamburg-Mitte; comprised of the territory of Gross Grasbrook, the northern part of the former island of Grasbrook, and the Speicherstadt on the former Elbe islands of Kehrwieder and Wandrahm; separated by the Zollkanal it borders the Innenstadt on the north, the Elbe to the west and south, and in the east Rothenburgsort bounded by the upper harbor; completely surrounded by river and canal courses and has a total area of 2.2 square kilometers; in a narrower sense as a project name HafenCity designates the approximately 155 hectare area of the former free-port, northern part of Gross Grasbrook and is the largest urban renewal project in Hamburg; declared its own city section Mar. 1, 2008; as a result of the new arrangement, the Speicherstadt was administratively no longer considered part of the Altstadt, but rather forms the northern area of HafenCity; nevertheless, HafenCity is commonly understood to be the former port area under municipal development, and the Speicherstadt is considered to be its own section; coordinates: 53°32'30" N, 9°59'36" E)
