Denmark, 1652; 1655 professor of theology and 1657 Dr. Theol.; 1659-1661 rector of the University; called to be bishop of Seeland (Sjælland), and thus primate of the Danish church, while remaining dean of the theological faculty; his son, also named Hans Wandal (1656-1710) also became professor theology in Copenhagen)
