He studied at the University of Pisa, graduating in mathematics in 1922. After time spent abroad, he was offered a chair by the University of Florence in 1926 and a year later, by the University of Palermo. He spent the years 1934 to 1939 at the University of São Paulo, Brazil. In 1939 he was offered a chair at the University of Rome, a position he held for the rest of his life. In 1942 he put forth a unified field theory of physics and biology. In 1952 he started to work on a physical theory related to relativity. He died in Viterbo, Italy on July 28, 1956) |
