Štorm studied at the Academy of Arts, Architecture and Design in Prague, graduating in 1991. He then became an assistant to Prof. Jan Solpera at the Academy's Studio of Typography. In 2003, he became head of the Studio and remained in this position until 2008. In 1993, he founded Storm Type Foundry, a small type foundry for his own work combining classical typography with digital technologies. He has produced more than sixty font families.
