Wikipedia, May 11, 2015 (John Stith Pemberton (July 8, 1831 - August 16, 1888) was an American pharmacist, and is best known for being the inventor of Coca-Cola. He was born in Knoxville, Ga., studied at the Reform Medical College in Macon, Ga., and served as a lieutenant colonel of the Confederate Army's 12th Cavalry Regiment, Georgia State Guard. He died in Atlanta, Ga. after selling his patent and remaining business shares to his partners.)
