Wikipedia WWW, viewed Sept. 16, 2015: Richard von Hegener (b. 2 Sept. 1905 in Sensburg; joined the Nazi's in 1931; obtained a job in the Reich Chancellery in 1937; by 1939 became deputy to Hans Hefelmann and office manager in Department IIb; was involved in the administration of Action T4's euthanasia program; at the end of the war, took refuge under the assumed name of Richard Wegener and worked in agriculture and timber; was discovered in 1949 and sentenced on July 14, 1952 to life in prison for crimes against humanity, but was released in July 1956. Beginning in 1960 gave edvidence against Franz Hofer, and former colleagues Hans Hefelmann (1964) and Dietrich Allers (1968). Died in Altona, Hamburg on Sept. 18, 1981).
