Biography/History note	George Edwin King (b. October 8, 1839, Saint John, New Brunswick, Canada-d. May 7, 1901, Ottawa, Ontario, Canada), Canadian lawyer, politician, second and fourth Premier of New Brunswick, and puisne justice of the Supreme Court of Canada. He earned his Bachelor's and Master's degrees at Wesleyan University in Middletown, Connecticut, and returned to Saint John to practice law. He was elected to the first provincial legislature of the Canadian Confederation in 1867, and served in the Confederation Party government as minister without portfolio. The Confederation Party became the Liberal-Conservatives, and King became Premier in 1870. He became Premier again in 1872 after the death of George L. Hathaway, in whose cabinet he had served. In 1880, he became a justice on the Court of Queen's Bench of New Brunswick and, in 1893, a justice on the Supreme Court of Canada. He was a member of the Bering Sea Claims Commission in 1896 and 1897.
