Historical Dictionary of Switzerland, via WWW, December 3, 2015 (Robert Balthasar Christ; born February 10, 1904 in Basel; died May 14, 1982 in Basel; he initially trained as a textile merchant; in 1935, using the pseudonym Fridolin; he began writing newspaper reports about car racing; in 1940, he finally gave up his job in favor of journalism; in 1947, he published speeches as Glopfgaischt; he wrote stories (The Mild Lupe,1949; The Sundial, 1951) and subject matter dictionaries (E Baseldytsch-Sammlig,194, 1974) as Fridolin; as a critic, columnist and radio employee, he was a pioneer of German-language quiz shows; he was a well-known figure in both Switzerland and Germany)
