Herron (Major General; February 17, 1837 - January 8, 1902; banker in Iowa, who formed a militia, the Governor's Grays, in 1859 which later became part of the 1st Iowa Volunteer Infantry. Herron rapidly rose in the ranks; was appointed commander of the 2nd and 3rd Divisions of the Army of the Frontier. He was the youngest man to be made Major General in 1862)
