Tom Reichelt website, August 22, 2016 (Tom Reichelt, born as Karl Ottomar Reichelt in Dresden, 16 September 1920; studied medicine in Leipzig, then in a student company of the Wehrmacht in Halle; assistant physician in Halle, Blankenburg, Merseburg, and again in Halle, then internist and in 1956 specialist for radiology and radiotherapy; began to paint while in Merseberg; defected to West Germany in 1957 and became a physician in the Allgemeines Krankenhaus in Celle, working in the department of radiology and radiotherapy; afterwards head physician there; exhibited paintings in many cities; around 1963, began signing his works "Tom Reichelt"; in the 1970s, turned to photography and exhibited his work in galleries and group exhibitions; wrote computer programs for medicine in the 1980s and was briefly fascinated by computer graphics; returned to painting after his retirement in 1984; died March 25, 2004)
