Melodramma italiano 1861-1900, 2003: page 4 (Abbati Achille (Savignano di Romagna 28.9.1857-Rimini 11.1.1914); began his musical studies in Rimini with Luigi Sarti and Giovanni Savioli; later studied at the Liceo musicale di Bologna with Alessandro Busi and Reati, and at the Istituto musicale di Firenze with Teodulo Mabellini; from 1878-1892 taught piano and singing in Cento, where he directed the orchestra at the Teatro Municipale; from 1892-1896 taught at the Istituto filarmonico di Adria; in 1897 taught in Rovigo; in 1898 settled in Rimini, where he was director of the Scuola municipale di musica, degli spettacoli teatrali e della banda, as well as maestro di cappella and organist at the cathedral)
