Found inLewis H. Sweetser papers, 1915-1930 (Lewis Hobart Sweetser was born in San Francisco, California on January 13, 1868. He received a doctoral degree from Yale in 1889. In 1891, he purchased Bar Y Ranch in Cassia County, Idaho with Harry & George Burroughs, his lifelong friends and partners. The partners also had a gold dredging operation, Sweetser-Burrough Mining Company, that ran on the Snake River for about 10 years. They were later involved in spiritualism in an attempt to contact their deceased wives. Sweetser was a Republican and served as Lieutenant Governor of Idaho, 1909-1913. Lewis H. Sweetser died June 9, 1944, one day after his friend, George Burroughs)
