Biography/History noteGeorge R. Lunn was ordained a Presbyterian minister in 1901. He was elected Mayor of Schenectady, N.Y. as a Socialist from 1911-1917. He was elected as a Democrat to the U.S. Congress for 1917-1919. He served again as Schenectady's mayor as a Democrat from 1919-1923. He was elected Lieutenant Governor of New York for 1923-1924, under Governor Alfred E. Smith.
