Site of Die Zieglerschen, viewed 7 Jan 2020 (In 1864 Johannes Ziegler (1842-1907), from Heubach unter dem Rosenstein, near Schwäbisch Gmünd, arrived in Wilhelmsdorf as a teacher, and spent the rest of his life there; he served in the deaf and dumb institution as assistant to the headmaster August Friedrich Osswald, whose daughter he married; in 1873 Ziegler succeeded his father-in-law as head of both the Taubstummenanstalt and Knabeninstitut; he died 4 Sep 1907; although he had no children, he considered his students his "sons"; he was considered a reformist, an innovative pedagogue, a gifted leader, and an influential preacher and writer.)
