Mohammed; Amina Jane Mohammed, born 27 June 1961, Liverpool, UK, to a Nigerian veterinarian and a British nurse; British and Nigerian citizenship; attended primary school in Kaduna and Maiduguri, Buchan School, Isle of Man, and Henley Management College (1989); worked with Archcon Nigeria, an architectural design firm, 1981-1991; in 1991 she founded Afri-Project Consortium, and was its executive director until 2001; coordinated the Task Force on Gender and Education for the United Nations Millennium Project, 2002-2005; was senior special assistant to the President of Nigeria on the Millennium Development Goals (MDGs); in 2005 she was charged with coordination of Nigeria's debt relief funds toward achievement of the MDGs; founder and CEO, Center for Development Policy Solutions; adjunct professor for Master's in Development Practice, Columbia University, during which time she served on numerous international advisory boards and panels; chaired the Advisory Board of the UNESCO Global Monitoring Report on Education (GME); from 2012 she was a key player in the Post-2015 Development Agenda process, serving as special advisor to UN Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon; Minister of the Environment 2015-2017 in the cabinet of President Muhammadu Buhari, as well as Nigeria representative in the African Union Reform Steering Committee; apointed Deputy Secretary-General of the United Nations in 2017)
