Wikipedia (in German), viewed November 3, 2020 (Paul Ritter (Maler, 1829); German painter; born March 4, 1829 in Nuremberg; deaf from the age of 4; he studied painting and graphics at Kunstgewerbeschule Nürnberg; he became known for his large-format architectural pictures of old Nuremberg; in 1888 he was appointed Royal Professor by Prince Regent Luitpold of Bavaria; with the help of his brother Lorenz, he taught at Kunstgewerbeschule Nürnberg; in 1870 he founded a deaf and dumb club in Nuremberg (dissolved 1879), where he was the first director; in 1907 he was made an honorary member of the deaf and dumb society Hufeisen; died November 24, 1907)
