Zuntz. There he worked on problems of nutrition and metabolism and did research in Vitamins. 1923 he was called to the University Leipzig, where he published the synthetic ability of intestinal bacteria and yeasts. In 1942 he became president of the newly created Public Institute (Reichsanstalt) for Vitamin-Research. 1945 he was transferred to the Justus Liebig School for Agriculture and Veterinary Medicine at Giessen.)
