| Biography/History note | Politically active Austrian nobleman and landowner. He took part in the Hussite war in 1431, and he was Hubmeister of Austria (1437-1440, 1439). Between 1451 and his death in 1460, he was involved in a number of alliances and plots concerning Ladislaus, and Count Ulrich von Cilli. He was a central figure in the provisional estate government of Austria after the death of Ladislaus in 1457; arrested in 1458, he was released shortly thereafter, just before he died of the plague. |
