He was a member of the Mozart Quartette group (1899) and was featured in a musical play titled, Wait for the Dandy Coon, (1903). His fame today rests upon a single piano rag, Heliotrope Bouquet A Slow Drag Two Step, co-composed with Scott Joplin in Chicago and published (1907) by Joplin's long-time publisher John Stark. He died 26 March 1908 in Chicago, Illinois, United States)
