(Hans Cohrssen) Wikipedia, German, May 3, 2022 (Hans Cohrssen; Hans RL Cohrssen (born September 19, 1905 in Neustadt an der Weinstrasse; died January 10, 1997 in Frankfurt am Main) was a German-American freelancer, co-founder of the US Free Economic League (Freiwirtschaftsliga) and close associate of Irving Fisher (1867-1947); in 1926 he emigrated to the United States and earned his living there, first as a partner in a health food store and later as a taxi driver in New York; in 1931, Cohrssen founded the Free Economic League with friends who had also immigrated from Germany; Cohrssen wrote articles for magazines, gave lectures in clubs and private societies and wrote letters to members of the US Congress; at the turn of the year 1932/1933, Irving Fisher, Hans Cohrssen and Herbert Wescott Fisher co-authored the book Stamp Script; other publications by Fisher followed, in which Cohrssen was instrumental, including the book Stable Money: A History of the Movement (1934); a year later it was published under the title Fixed Currency.
